A 24-year old Denver man — Najibullah Zazi — was indicted by a federal grand jury in New York on a charge of  “conspiracy to use weapons of mass destruction” against persons in the United States, according to the Justice Department.

The Los Angeles Times reported in a September 25, 2009 story that Zazi “worked for more than a year” on the largest plot against the United States since the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

According to documents related to the federal indictment, Zazi possessed handwritten notes that discussed “formulations for mixing hydrogen peroxide with flour, and list ghee oil as a type of fuel that can be used to help initiate the explosive device.”
