Paul Shishis, a UFO enthusiast from Canada, believes he has an obligation to share the truth with the world

Editor’s Note: On Oct. 15, 2009, Big 3 News published a feature story about a Canadian man, Paul Shishis, who witnessed what he called a “morphing object” over the skies of Scarborough, Canada in September (read the complete story here).

Two days later, Shishis appeared as a guest on a Big 3 News Live Feed. He recounted his recent experiences, and provided insight into his background and how he became a UFO enthusiast.

Below is a transcript of our extensive interview with Shishis, as well as on-demand video:

BIG 3 NEWS: Let’s explain to our viewers right now, kind of give them an overview of how you and I established contact?

SHISHIS: We have been in contact I believe near less than two years. I’ve been emailing you, and you’ve been emailing me at times, you’re busy doing your thing and of course I’m busy doing mine, and it seems now that you’ve, in a sense, metamorphosized your news station. We’ve clicked on to a story here that is simply amazing, what has happened to me on the 17th (September) of this year.

BIG 3 NEWS: Let’s go ahead and talk about that incident a little bit. I’ll let you share with our viewers exactly what you saw and what you captured on film. And then, once we talk about that incident, then we’ll get into your background a little bit and broaden this out?

SHISHIS: What happened was I got up earlier than usual at around 5:20 a.m., and I got up and I made tea, it was still dark out. I’m usually up around quarter till seven, but in this case much earlier so it was still dark. And I had just stepped outside with my tea, checking out the night and the clarity of the sky with the stars. I looked up, and in my thoughts, I didn’t say anything, I thought, ‘show me a sign if you’re watching me.’ I’m looking up and within a few seconds I saw a bright, white flash in the sky above. It paused for a few seconds, and then another three or four rapid flashes, with another pause for two seconds. And then another single, white flash, and that was it. I’m looking up to see if I can see any running lights, or hear any sound of aircraft…nothing. So I was kind of in shock at what I just saw.

If I can just reflect here, something like this happened similar to me a couple years ago, in April I went outside, and I said, ‘show me a sign if you’re watching me.’ I saw like a falling star coming down, it was amber in color, it did a hook to the right, and went out a few hundred yards and just disappeared. And I thought back then, like, what’s going on with that? But this time, Rusty, it was a thought. Based on what I seen you get used to it, you move on with your life when you see things, because it’s pretty crazy. When you start thinking about it and adding it up, it can bother you. But you just leave it and move on. You get to used to it.

So I went to work, I commute from Nashua to Scarborough forty-five kilometers, I do that at 7:00 am and get to work for 8:00 am. I was working in Scarborough, and I was working a little later for lunch, and had a late lunch, so when I was ready to go out for lunch in our parking lot, I stepped outside facing to the east in the parking lot, and I saw this object, it was dark, it was heading right towards me. It was very odd to see something like this, and right away I pulled out my camera from my pocket and started to take pictures of it coming at me. As I started taking pictures, I then went into a video clip mode and again put the camera on it and noticed it was opening up. Opening up is the best word to describe it. It opened up, because it then looked like it changed in its size, in its shape, and it looked like at least ten to fifteen feet in length. It looked like it was three to five hundred feet off the ground. It was very low, and as I’m photographing it, it started to now shift and move now towards the north.

I yelled for a witness, and he came running, and he saw it, and a couple other people also came and saw it. They didn’t say anything, and the thing started moving off to the north now. The guy beside, my co-worker, said it looks like a big piece of garbage. Of it went, and so I right away just jumped in my car and went off on to the main road and went north, and then hooked into the streets of the industrial street where I thought maybe I could find it as it was moving across. It was moving slow, it wasn’t fast, and I went through there within about two or three minutes after I saw it, and I couldn’t find it, so I gave up.

I thought, ‘well, that’s odd’. I got pictures, and I moved up to the main street to go now westward towards lunch. I was at the light and looked up to the north and now I could see a white one. A very brilliant, white object moving very slow. Moving towards the clouds. It looked like it was probably a quarter mile away from me, and probably half a mile up there. It’s very hard to say how high, but thousands of feet now. I have tried to film these white ones before. These are slow or stationary type objects, and usually I see a light red field around them. I have tried to photograph them, and surprisingly enough, when I have taken pictures of these things, they don’t come out on film. I’m speculating that is the light field around them that don’t bring the image in. But at the light, I took five pictures of this white object, and then did a short video clip which you posted. The light changed and I moved on. I was very, very overwhelmed after that, going, ‘what is this that’s going on here?’

All this started from the morning, it was just a lot of coincidences of strange anomalies that were coming around. When I came back from lunch, I came out of my car and looked around, three-sixty, and thought what the heck, and I took a couple of pictures over my work and later looked at it and noticed there seems to be a streak of some type of an object over the roof of my workplace. I finished up the day and still in a bit of a shock. Very fascinated with what was happening, but I was sort of shocked because it was kind of like too much to see — three in one day of something just totally bizarre and strange.

I got in contact with John Wilke, he was the first one I gave the information with the pictures to, and it got picked up with Roger Marsh from the UFO Examiner, and it just went crazy from there.

BIG 3 NEWS: Paul, did you report this to any of the agencies or the people in Canada who actually keep records of these events?

SHISHIS: What I had done, as I do if I find anything of a sighting and especially with pictures, I would report it to George Filer or BJ Booth of UFO Casebook. I am starting now to report to Peter Davenport for National UFO Reporting Center.

BIG 3 NEWS: What about MUFON? Is that a US organization or do they have a Canadian outreach as well?

SHISHIS: MUFON is international, Rusty, but it’s head office is I believe in Denver. It has been on-going for me, I keep also in touch and I send reports and pictures to people who are related to MUFON. George Filer is a member. We have members here in Ontario, and I also report, I share to everyone. I just feel that everyone has a right to know who’s interested in this information. To see the statistics or the data of what time is it you’re witnessing, what’s the date of it, what’s the length of time you witnessed it, and all descriptions around it, just to get more data out there. We’re only lucky to get one percent reported. Many people see things, Rusty, but they keep it to themselves. They’re afraid of the ridicule and in fact, some can be very frightened if it’s close to them. They hold it in for years and years and years. Probably many take it to their death bed.

BIG 3 NEWS: For some people I would suspect it’s almost a traumatic experience for them. It’s delving into the unknown. Whatever you attribute UFO’s to, in sightings, unidentified flying objects is accurately what they are. They are not identified, although that doesn’t mean, necessarily, that they are like the Hollywood perception of little green men. But I suspect that people deal with this internally when they do see something that is not part of the natural world, is that kind of what you experienced as you went through the years?

SHISHIS: I think my case is a little unique because all this starts way back in childhood. My first sighting was when I was age eight in 1967.

BIG 3 NEWS: Did you say age eight, 1967?

SHISHIS: Right.

BIG 3 NEWS: Paul, you’ve not been any stranger to this. You’re telling us that at eight years old you first saw something? Tell us a little bit about that.

SHISHIS: I have a very good memory. I can tell you the day I was there. I returned from camp, it was on a Sunday in August, it was a hot day, and I was outside my front there in Scarborough. My neighbor came outside and said to me, he heard on the radio that we were going to see a satellite go over the city. And I said, oh yeah. I’m an eight year old kid, what do I know about satellites? So, about ten-fifteen, maybe even twenty minutes later, I’m still outside there. It’s a hot day, clear sky, my neighbor came outside and he yelled at me, he said ‘there it is.’ Pointing up to the sky. I looked up, and what I could clearly see, probably anywhere from thirty, forty, fifty, maybe even sixty thousand feet, Rusty, I could see a torpedo shaped, silver, torpedo-shaped object moving across the sky, coming from the left, heading overhead toward the east on a straight flight path.

And it looked like it had maybe one or two silver spheres circling around the center of the body of the torpedo-shaped object. It was more like gliding across like a plane would as it was going across the sky. Now I watched it probably about a minute, minute and a half, and I watched it going across, and I thought to myself as a kid, wow, I just saw a satellite, how about that! I never really related or talked to anybody about that. It’s just that you know, you’re a kid, you’ve read about satellites, we know they’re out there. But I thought in later years, maybe in fact it was not a satellite, because if you just see a satellite in lower orbit, should it not be coming down to crash? Instead of gliding across, as it was moving across in a steady flight path? If you do your homework, 1967 was a flap around North America. And of course we had the Canadian Shag Harbor crash on October 4, 1967.

BIG 3 NEWS: Yeah, and from a journalistic standpoint, when I first started out, we were doing stories geared specifically toward UFOs and objects that people were reporting. I have to tell you, Paul, that, while I don’t believe necessarily, I’m a skeptic when it comes to some of the extremism in the UFO movement, from a journalistic standpoint, I have to say that if you go back and read the headlines from the 1920’s to the present day, there’s so many people that have reported seeing objects in the sky. I can’t say that they’re all crazy, Paul.

SHISHIS: Rusty, I think if you do your history check, we have lots of artifacts, like the Sumerians, that have left remnants that in fact they have been dealing with ancient astronauts that have been here.

BIG 3 NEWS: Now when you first started telling your stories, you actually did it under a cloak of anonymity, is that correct?

SHISHIS: Yes, I did. I started the first one was my first report to Brian Vike on August 14, 2004. That was my first official report out.

BIG 3 NEWS: What propelled you to come forward giving your identity to people, and knowing that there is a risk involved, that people are going to try to discredit your views?

SHISHIS: I felt as a citizen of the world that everyone should be aware there are higher intelligence around us. Based on that, I think what we need to do know because of what I’ve seen, we need to realize what is truly going on around us. When you see something unexplained, you start to question your surroundings with a high sensitivity. Now you become like a Columbo. You start to research, you start to investigate, and you start to talk to other people and other groups. You’re out to find some information for yourself, because you want to put together. You’re trying to put it together for yourself, but you’re also trying to share with other people that are also similar like yourself. Because I know there are other individuals who have on-going sightings like myself, Rusty.

BIG 3 NEWS: Paul, why do you feel there’s such a great divide between people who believe, and people who are non-believers? Why is there such a division there, why are people so fearful of this?

SHISHIS: First of all, there is the old saying, Seeing is believing. If you’ve seen something that defies logic, be it maybe you’ve gone camping, maybe you’ve been driving on the road, or maybe you were fishing, maybe you were in your office tower. Maybe you were in a plane. Maybe you were in your house and you noticed something odd out the window or in an apartment on a balcony. And you become that kind of believer. Now these occurrences are rare. It’s not until you have something like, that escalates in March 13, 1997, the Phoenix Lights, where literally if not hundreds of thousands of people have witnessed something very large, or maybe the recent one like in Texas.

BIG 3 NEWS: Like the Stephenville Lights?

SHISHIS: Yes, exactly. There obviously seems to be a pattern happening more and more, Rusty. Not just in the United States, not just in my province or country but around the world, if you do your homework. If you look at the stats, they are growing. The media is picking it up much more, and people who report a sighting it seems the giggle factor isn’t there anymore.

BIG 3 NEWS: Do you think these sightings are cyclical, in other words, they occur in increased numbers at various periods throughout history? Is there something you can put your finger on?

SHISHIS: I think right now it’s due to the presence of our civilization. We know right now we are technologically out of bounds here. We are too technologically advanced in controlling what we’re doing to the earth. We have been experimenting a lot of different types of high technologies. Take for example your micro waves for cell phones. We have seen a decline, reduction of population in the bees, where, in theory, it might be possible that the micro waves are distorting their communications with their antennae in getting back to the hives. Of course, the hive becomes dead. The food chain, as I see it, is starting to collapse. There is no doubt about it.

My background is forestry, and I can tell you right now where I live, and I’ve seen pictures of parts of the world, it looks like the trees are starting to die. I think it’s due to a high extreme of ultra-violet rays. That may well be due to ozone thinning. The message I’m getting loud and clear, you’re asking, ‘Paul, what makes you want to come forward?’ I think we need to readdress how we as humans are conducting ourselves on this planet. We’re heading towards extinction, Rusty. That‘s a very drab, very negative, don’t-want-to-hear-it sort of thing, but it’s in your face. The garbage is everywhere. We’ve corrupted the water, we’ve corrupted the air, and now we’ve corrupted the sunlight, the three elements to sustain an organism, us, another organism. I think it looks to be that not only lower ETs, but much higher ETs now are starting to buzz around us, because I think it’s coming to a fork in the road now that we need to deter. We need to change as a species. We need to be a little more spiritual and love, a little more in open and sharing, and not be so selfish in a materialist world.

BIG 3 NEWS: Paul, I know you’re familiar with UFOlogy research up in Manitoba, they actually reported that only about 10% of reported sightings were labeled as unexplained. Less than one percent of that number were classified as high quality unknowns. I think a logical question that some of our viewers may have right now, and I don’t mean this in a personal way, but I mean in general, why you? Why any eyewitness? What is it about you or any other eyewitness that sees these events?

SHISHIS: I think it might go quite deep. I’ve researched why, that question you’re asking. That is the sixty four million dollar question, why me? I think it might be, Rusty, that when you start to look at the soul matrix, you start to look at reincarnation. And I think maybe, in previous lives, you were conditioned to come to this time of being in contact with certain higher entities, maybe we are associated with these higher entities, because the soul of the matrix not only are from this world, but may come from other worlds in helping us to develop our world into a better place. I’m not saying I have all the answers, and I’m just speculating here, because this is a very difficult question to ask, but I think it may be that I’ve not been a very, myself, a very violent person, I wouldn’t hurt anybody, I’m very close to nature. I have great empathy for people, and I think it might be another side of the coin where it could be a random sample of doing a project of various humans of their reactions.

When they talk about the ten percent may be really something to look at, we’re only getting one percent of the sightings of that ten percent. Like the other ninety-nine percent, you’re going to get a whole lot more of strangeness, high strangeness of what people have seen and what people have experienced. People have also experienced missing time issues, and that’s when it really starts to go a little crazy. What’s the purpose behind that? We may acknowledge that we have a higher presence around us of objects that defy logic, but I think what we need to know now, too, is who exactly are you and what’s your purpose? Maybe their purpose is to watch our development, and maybe there are other groups now getting more involved, because we are playing around with weapons that we shouldn’t have.

BIG 3 NEWS: I know a lot of viewers that have come to our chat before have brought this up. How many of the sightings that are allegedly unexplained do you think are attributable to government activity?

SHISHIS: I’d say fifty percent. I’m thinking that, Rusty, because they’ve got a lot of black projects happening that we knew nothing about in the last fifty years. The same with the stealth, they were flying those. Right now, if you’ve heard of Gary McKinnon, he is the UK hacker who got into NASA’s computers and military and finding out that we may well have military out in space.

BIG 3 NEWS: Paul, where does Canada stand on disclosure? Because as you know there have been some countries which have taken a more aggressive role in releasing records related to reporting to the public, like the UK, Brazil, France and Mexico?

SHISHIS: Mexico has given some information out when they had footage of that reconnaissance military plane looking for people for drug running, those eleven objects around the plane. Canada has released some files this year in February, they’ve released somewhere of 4,500 files. But, see, that’s just a drop in the bucket. We know that the UK continues to release more files. Brazil recently has released more files. If you want to look at synchronicity with the way I look at the world, the Vatican released a news flash on May 13th that it’s okay to believe in aliens. When I look at dates, I look very closely at everything; May 13th in 1907 was the first date of the Lady of Fatima in Portugal. I think this is a readiness of something that is approaching, and I think there will be a disclosure.

BIG 3 NEWS: What role does spirituality play in this? There’s been writings back to the sixties, the “Chariots of the Gods“, by Von Daniken?

SHISHIS: There is an element of spirituality in this. We are intelligent beings here, and there are other intelligent beings outside of us. You either create or you destroy, it’s a simple as that. We’ve had certain people in our history who are spreading the message of love and sharing as a people. And yet, we seem to be still very tribal amongst each other, we sub-divide each other, and we continue to resist and fight, and we don’t get together and talk. Everybody’s walking but nobody’s talking.

BIG 3 NEWS: Well, Paul, that’s one thing we definitely do here at Big 3 News, is we try to engage people in getting them talking about these issues. I’ve got to ask, before we close, I do appreciate you joining us tonight, but I’ve got to ask, you seem like a relatively normal guy, I’m sure you get up and you go to work every day, sounds like you provide for your family from what I can gather, what does your family think about this? Do they embrace what you’re doing, or do they kind of feel like you’re the odd man out?

SHISHIS: Well, I’ll tell you. A person in my situation, it’s not uncommon to lose friends, it’s not uncommon to have a divorce, it’s not uncommon to lose a job. You can scare people, you can spook people. But, I’ve been, like you say, a normal person. My second sighting was in 1977, it was a close encounter. I went to the library to check it out because there were no reports of it or nothing on the radio. I read in the microfiche that the Canadian government will not disclose any information regarding UFOs and that new word extra terrestrials until the years 2000. So I let it go. Just like the sightings after that, which were nine up to 2002, and they were all in the month of August, and then I started to investigate, and now all hell broke loose in 2003 when I had a total of sixteen sightings. Fourteen were daylight, I witnessed a flying creature, and I have eighteen witnesses to this, and I may have some confirmation that I was taken as a child.

BIG 3 NEWS: I guess one of the things I struggled with in doing a lot of research last year with this topic, was the fact that so many people, allegedly saw these things, but there was a shortage of hard, physical evidence. In other words, some of the evidence that you provided in our feature story was photographic evidence, videography, even with multiple eyewitnesses. There are people that don’t believe in Jesus Christ, and they say there was five hundred witnesses to that event, and yet there’s a whole church movement built around that. Why is it so hard to provide concrete evidence to these sightings?

SHISHIS: I do believe that if you have good, concrete evidence, as soon as word gets out the government’s going to be on you. They’re going to take it away from you.

BIG 3 NEWS: You actually feel that there would be an overt effort by someone in the government to quash your evidence?

SHISHIS: Yes, I do. If they’re ready for it not to be released, yes I do. All you have to do is look at the history of even your own citizens and the military. I believe one man’s name was Forester. He was a defense minister, and he wanted to bring the truth. I think another one was John Kennedy.

BIG 3 NEWS: Have you ever had any experiences with suppression? Has anyone ever tried to suppress your voices?

SHISHIS: I have talked about things on the phone, and there’s been electronic interference, like a high-pitched frequency. This is a network of watching everything. They call it the all-seeing eye. Again, I just feel to come forward and sharing, because I think everyone has the right to know the truth. The truth is very important. And right now, when the truth comes out, they like to cover it up real quick, about anything…anything. That’s how everything is controlled. It’s all based on, the evil is really the veil of not knowing the truth.

BIG 3 NEWS: Give me your honest prediction here, in the next fifty years, how do you think that this thing is going to climax?

SHISHIS: I think we’ll be probably moving on off the planet. We’ll have to. Based on what we’ve done, maybe some marvelous technology we can help clean up the planet. But what we’re needing now is new advance three of technology of energy. And it’s out there, Rusty, I know it’s out there. It’s suppressed. If we shut down the oil and nuclear, nobody makes money. If we shut down pharmaceutical companies, no one makes money. That has to be taken out; the gain over another. You don’t want to be the host; you don’t want parasites on you. You want to be independent, you want your own free energy, and you want to learn how to heal yourself. It’s simple.

BIG 3 NEWS: We do appreciate you sharing your experiences with us here.

SHISHIS: I love sharing, and like you, I just believe that many of the citizens of the world should believe in truth and what’s going on.

BIG 3 NEWS: Regardless of where you stand on this issue, whether you believe in extraterrestrials, whether you believe in unidentified objects, whether you believe in things that are unseen or not, if you do see something, if you do have an experience, we encourage you to report it. Here in the United States we have the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON), there are other reporting agencies out there. I know Paul would agree with us, reporting is the key to documenting what you see.

SHISHIS: Yes, Rusty, correct. It’s very important that you come out of the closet, and help bring a piece of the puzzle so we can all see the bigger picture.
