Big 3 News viewer MaryBeth shares some of her poetry with our readers.
I saw the most beautiful face today, she looked at me and turned away.
I saw the most handsome face today, he looked at me and turned away.
The most beautiful child smiled at me today, and his momma made him turn away.
I saw the most beautiful blue sky today, the clouds rolled in and then away.
I saw the most beautiful bird today, it chirped at me then flew away.
I saw the most beautiful Angel today, he stopped and asked, “How can I take your pain away?”
I looked at myself in the rags I owned, the shoes covered in paper and tried to turn away.
This was the most beautiful thing I had seen, and it wasn’t turning away.
He took his hand and lifted my chin. “Do not be afraid, I am here to take your pain away.”
I asked of this Angel, “Please bring peace and understanding, bring love back,
bring tolerance, and kindness, it has seemed to have slipped away.”
With a wave of his hand and a flap of his wings, all the pain melted away….
Suddenly I was warm, I was fed, I was clothed, I was loved, I mattered again… and my pain went away.
I am the homeless, I am the sick, I am the dying, I am the elderly, I am the child lost by parents, I am the orphan with no parents.
I am the pain, that is what we call life, the agony and despair…Of which we can melt away…If we all come together, and take the pain away…
