AT THE FOOT OF THE CROSS: Memories of a Christian soldier

The October evening my teacher and I had chosen to visit him turned out to be a resplendent one. The sun was gently settling in the western sky as gray clouds, playfully drawing pictures of obscure objects, tinted the distant horizon. A seasonal breeze spoke softly to us, reminding us that we would soon need our autumn jackets.

As we pulled into Uncle Lew’s driveway, we couldn’t help but notice the pieces of time that speckled his yard…

Ohio woman’s 1978 UFO encounter: “You need to pull over, this thing’s gonna crash!”

It was the spring of 1978.

Sue and three siblings had been sent by their mother to the grocery store in Jamestown. As they were returning home around 10 p.m. Eastern time, something in the sky caught the eye of Sue and her brother, who were both sitting up front in the car. A sister and another brother, ages twelve and nineteen, were sitting in the backseat.

“We were probably about a mile from home,” Sue recalled…

Chick-Fil-A food service suspended over company’s pro-marriage stance

Students at Indiana University South Bend will no longer have Chick-Fil-A sandwiches as a menu item until the campus administration can review complaints by a student group and some faculty members about the company’s affiliations.

Chick-fil-A food service is temporarily suspended — although the Christian-principled fast food chain remains an approved Indiana University vendor — and will not be replaced with another vendor.

“Reports that an out-of-state- Chick-Fil-A franchise will be donating food to an event that promotes traditional family and marriage” prompted the suspension…

EXCLUSIVE: Poisoned Texas author says aliens responded to Internet SOS, “I haven’t bled since”

A Texas man who was poisoned by his ex-girlfriend says advanced aliens visited his home in the dead of night to assist him, and he has the pictures to prove it (see below).

Don Ray Walton, author of the 138-page book “The Coming Human Aliens”, believes visitors answered his Internet call for help — a space S.O.S. — and that they have been communicating with and teaching him since he was a child.

On February 14, 2010, Walton says he needed medical help and asked aliens to come visit him at his home in Texas…

Leap of faith: Freelance artist turns passion into products to help family survive adversities

I found myself again at life’s crossroads.

Which turn should I take? Left, right or straight ahead?

Once again, fate stepped in to turn my regular, everyday life upside down and sideways. I tried many times to have a normal life, like everyone else — go to work, take care of the kids, clean my house, and have fun occasionally.

Every time I have tried to do that, something seems to turn my path away from it.

This newest conundrum took me aback for quite some time.

You see, my husband was removed from work; he was too ill to work any longer. He’s a fairly young man, 43 to be exact, and he took the news hard.

Because of his health condition, he has problems…

Pew survey: Americans “uninformed” about major faith traditions, despite being world’s most religious people

For all the talk about America being the spiritual “shining city on a hill”, a new national survey reveals that a large number of Americans are uninformed about major faith traditions, including their own.

And, ironically, agnostics and atheists — individuals who don’t believe in God or simply say they don’t know– were more in tune with aspects of faith than traditional believers and worshipers.

The U.S. Religious Knowledge Survey, conducted May 19 through June 6, 2010 by the Pew Forum on Religion & Public Life, polled 3,412 American aged 18 and older. Results were released on Tuesday…
