Left for dead: New York family seeks pasture home for quarter horse saved three years ago from cruelty

In his prime, he was a Champion Barrel Racer that earned multiple trophies for his owner, displaying great strength and pride.

His darkest moments came when he was left for dead after being knocked over the head with a sledge hammer and locked in a barn with nothing to eat but his own waste.

Now, a New York family who rescued this twenty-four year old quarter horse named Jet over three years ago are desperately seeking a new home for him where he can retire with dignity and grace.

“We’ve been going from one place to the other, different rescues in the area, trying to improve his situation,”the mother, Milly, said in an exclusive interview with Big 3 News…

California gays get green light to marry, judge strikes down “one man, one woman” Prop 8

A federal district judge in California has ruled that Proposition 8 — the voter-approved initiative which sought to strictly define marriage as an act between one woman and one man — violates the Fourteenth Amendment of the United States Constitution.

The decision effectively overturns the voter initiative and allows same-sex marriages in the State of California.

Chief U.S. District Judge Vaughn Walker said Proposition 8 “unconstitutionally burdens the exercise of the fundamental right to marry…”

A dating website created by mathematicians, OkCupid, has put a new spin on the online singles web enterprise by allowing users to design the questions that determine compatibility.

The website creators also publish a blog where they analyze member data and delve into political issues with some interesting results.

Founded in 2004 by mathematicians and Harvard graduates Max Khron, Sam Yaghan, Chris Coyne, and Christian Rudder, OkCupid claims to be the largest free online dating site in the United States with 500,000 active members…

Chatroulette is an amazingly simplistic concept in today’s online world of flashy graphics and content-rich websites: connect two random strangers via their webcam. Oh, and throw in an over-sized chat room for giggles and grins.
